A dental Hygienist, Cherise Gould and Dental Nurse, Elena Scott, from Prue Dental Studio in Market Harborough are getting ready for some wild running at the 10K Autumn Wolf Run in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire.  Wolf stands for Woods, Obstacles, Lakes and Fields and the event takes place on the 7th and 8th September!  All to raise money for the Mouth Cancer Foundation.

Help us spread the word... The #MC7 self examination of the mouth is designed to educate and encourage the general public to sit up and take note that they should be checking themselves for mouth cancer at least once a month.  MC stands for Mouth Cancer and the 7 is the 7 areas of the mouth that everyone should be checking - Face, Neck, Lips, Gums, Cheeks, Tongue and Mouth.  

Are you a carer for someone who has cancer? Our colleagues at The Swallows Head and Neck Cancer Support Group have produced an online survey for all members of the public (over the age of 18) in UK who have been, or are currently, a carer for someone who has any type of cancer.

Mouth Cancer Foundation Clinical Ambassador Philip Lewis, is talking all about raising awareness of mouth cancer at the London Dentistry Show on 13th and 14th September at Olympia.  The charity will also have a stand at the show in the Association Area.

Entry for the Mouth Cancer Foundation’s Charity Project Awards 2019, courtesy of dental implant company Straumann is now closed.  We will review the applications we have received and will announce the recipients of the of three grants, Gold £1500, Silver £1000 and Bronze £500 in the next few weeks.

Top Gun star Val Kilmer made a rare public appearance in New York – just days after the trailer for the sequel to his hit movie was released. The star, 59, who has been battling throat cancer, has recently returned to the spotlight after taking time out of his movie career to fight the disease.

The Mouth Cancer Foundation has a dedicated HELPLINE telephone number.  It is 01924 950 950.  It operates between 0900 and 1700 Monday to Friday. The helpline is manned by mouth cancer survivor and Mouth Cancer Foundation Patient Ambassador, Rachel Parsons who will do her best to answer any patient, carer and survivor related queries.
