‘Walk for Clare’ is one of the largest teams taking part in the Mouth Cancer 10 KM Awareness Walk.  The team, (made up of Clare Jones’ family), has been walking for 10 days and they have already surpassed their target of walking the 336 miles from Shrewsbury to Hyde Park London.  They could have hung up their walking boots after about 3 days, but no… the loyal supporters carried on  walking with a spring in their step to Loughborough University where Clare spent 18 months before being diagnosed with mouth cancer. Their next journey was a total of 156 miles to the university where Clare held her first fundraiser for the Mouth Cancer Foundation.

Pattie and Kevin Jones comment ‘At the time, Clare  rounded up her friends they wore the t.shirt, rattled the charity buckets handed out leaflets and raised over £500 for the charity. That was the beginning of what we continue to do in her memory and have welcomed all your support along the way.  If you would like to continue to 'Walk for Clare' it will be very much appreciated. ’

Fay, Clare’s best friend from University has also been stepping out as part of ‘Walk for Clare’. The team based their efforts in Milton Keynes, despite walking the miles to Loughborough university, where Clare and Fay’s story first began.
