The Mouth Cancer 10 KM Awareness Walk got off to a great start at the weekend with hundreds of you turning out around your local areas to walk a 10 K.
Earlier this month, Shwetha Willis and 15 of her friends and colleagues walked around Graves Park in Sheffield – keeping a law-abiding social distance between their small groups of course.
Shwetha is a dentist and has seen first-hand patients suffering from mouth cancer. Her great Uncle is also battling throat cancer at 83 and suffering at the moment which is devastating for Shwetha and her family. Shwetha says “I have lost 3 of my maternal aunts and my grandma to breast, cervical and blood cancer so cancer kind of runs in our family its heart wrenching to see people suffer. Walking the Mouth Cancer 10 KM Awareness walk is the least I can do to help”.
We will be featuring walkers regularly on our social media channels and in our news stories throughout October and November so please send us your photos and tell us why you’re stepping out in the Mouth Cancer 10 KM Awareness Walk.
You have until the end of 30th November to take part so register today https://www.mouthcancerwalk.org/register
