SHOCKING RISE IN CANCER PATIENTS NOT BEING TREATED DUE TO COVID


The Sunday Times ran a story at the weekend on NHS England data highlighting the rise in cancer patients not being treated due to Covid-19 concerns.

Britain faces a “ticking time bomb” of missed cancer cases as new figures reveal that 350,000 patients have not been referred to hospital.

The analysis of NHS England data shows 1.85 million urgent cancer referrals were made by GPs between March 2020 and January 2021, a 16 per cent drop on the 2.2 million in the same period the year before.
