Mouth Cancer Awareness Day 2012

Our colleagues in Ireland held a Mouth Cancer Awareness Day on Wednesday, 19th September.

Mouth cancer affects more than 300 Irish people every year. It is often diagnosed at an advanced stage as patients are unaware of the early symptoms of the disease.

Mouth Cancer Awareness Day aims to educate people and make them aware that a simple and painless five-minute examination can save their lives.

This year, Dublin and Cork Dental University Hospitals and 700 dental surgeries throughout the country joined the campaign and offered free mouth cancer examinations to the members of the public.
