The second Face Equality Day is taking place on Wednesday 23rd May 2018.  Imagine what it is like to be stared at every day?  To be told you didn’t get the job because your face ‘didn’t fit’!  Being bullied at school or in the work place.  Experiencing hate crime.  Having strangers ask you personal questions.  People who have a disfigurement experience this every day.

The charity Changing Faces is trying to change that.  This year the focus of their campaign, ‘Proud to be Me’ is on children and young people with visible differences across the UK.  The Mouth Cancer Foundation is proud to support their efforts because often head and neck cancer patients go through traumatic surgery which leaves them with very visible disfigurements and scares across the whole face, head or neck area, depending on the location of the cancer and surgery required.  There are many ways to get involved and support this fantastic initiative.
