Gift Aid – making your money go further
Using Gift Aid means that for every £1 you give, we’ll receive an extra 25p from the Government, helping your donation go further.
Participation in any activity should be fun. Whilst there is never a minimum sponsorship requirement to participate in the event, there also is no maximum. The Sky really is the limit!
At the very beginning we recommend that you set yourself a target of how much you are hoping to raise in sponsorship as this can help you to focus on your fundraising efforts. By following the steps below, you may even find yourself exceeding your fundraising target!
Think about who you could ask to help you in your fundraising activities and decide when best to set about enlisting their support.
Make a list of potential sponsors – include relatives, friends, neighbours, sports and social club members, school / college friends, colleagues, business contacts etc – and decide when to approach them.
Ask your company for support. Many companies will match the amount you raise – it can give them good publicity and it’s a tax benefit too.
Keep accurate records for yourself and your chosen beneficiary. Record all money received on your sponsorship form, together with details of who made the donation and when.
And don’t forget before you start fundraising to ask whether your chosen beneficiary is eligible to receive tax relief on sponsorship donations as this can really boost the amount raised.
By being original and planning ahead, fundraising can be really rewarding and enjoyable!
Every year we receive a huge amount of support from a wide range of fundraisers raising awareness and support for mouth cancer.
